Rumble on the Rock: Several in a series of MMA events which took place in Hawaii beginning in about 2002, and are known for the lightweight super fight between lightweights B.J. This type fighting is most commonly used by kickboxers, Thai Kickboxers or karate fighters who have been trained to prevent the takedowns that are used by more wrestling prone fighters. [+] Streetfighting: A rather loose form of MMA, where the actual experience of the fighter is gained in street brawl style fighting. This is usually frowned on as it exposes the fighters to unnecessary and real danger. [+] Strikeforce: Strikeforce Fighting Championship – a United States kickboxing and mixed martial arts promotion company which is based in California. [+] Striking: Hitting your opponent–striking blows may take place with hand, arm, elbow,knee, leg or foot. [+] Submission grappling: Generally a ground fighting that takes the opponent down using a throw or takedown tactic, taking the upper position and applying a submission hold of some variety. [+] Submission Hold: A choke hold or in some cases a type of manipulation of the joints that will cause your opponent to submit or tapout. [+]
