The UFC women’s bantamweight division will take center stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on February 11, and you can be in attendance by buying your tickets for UFC 208 today. The main event will be a fantastic women’s fight between former UFC Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm and standout Germaine de Randamie.
Holm has a fantastic 10-2 record that includes her dominant title victory over the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey. Although she has since lost the title, Holm could punch her way to another shot at the belt with a win over her de Randamie.
De Randamie is a Dutch fighter with two straight wins in the UFC heading into UFC 208. Her latest victory featured a very nasty KO via a knee to the body against Anna Elmose at UFC Fight Night 87, and she’ll want to put on a similar performance against Holm in February.
The fight could end up being an epic standup battle, since both ladies have outstanding kickboxing and will be looking to use it in their matchup. The bout could wind up as an early contender for fight of the year, in fact.
Earlier in the night, Glover Teixeira will try to step back towards contention in the light heavyweight division as he takes on the 9-1 Jared Cannonier. Teixeira will have a difficult job to do against his opponent, and he will need to win decisively to show that he can back up the potential he’s shown in the past.
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has been one of the best fighters in the middleweight division for some time now, and he’ll want to keep up his record of excellence in huge fights as he takes on Tim Boetsch at UFC 208. Boetsch will require every bit of takedown defense he can come up with against Jacare, who has possibly the best jiu-jitsu in the sport to go along with an improving standup game, as well.
Also in action will be UFC veterans Travis Browne and Jim Miller, who will face Derrick Lewis and Dustin Poirier, respectively. Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall will take on Neil Seery on a fantastic preliminary card that also includes standouts Nik Lentz and Wilson Reis.
Don’t be left at home during one of the most exciting cards of the year! Buy tickets now so you can be there live at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on February 11.
