If you want to be in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on February 11 when Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie square off for the belt, get your tickets for UFC 208 today. The main event will crown the first UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.
Holm is no stranger to longtime fans, as she has a terrific 10-2 record that includes her legendary title win over the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey. Even though she would go on to lose the title, Holm could punch her way to another belt with a win over de Randamie.
However, de Randamie is no pushover herself. As a Dutch fighter with two straight wins in the UFC heading into UFC 208, de Randamie is feared for her striking ability. Her latest win came via a nasty knee to the body against Anna Elmose at UFC Fight Night 87, and she’ll be ready to do the same to Holm in a few days.
The fight is likely to be an epic battle, since both women are known for their kickboxing and will be looking to strike during their matchup. The fight has been pegged by many as a potential fight of the year contender.
Earlier on the card, Glover Teixeira will attempt to get back in contention in the light heavyweight division as he faces the 9-1 Jared Cannonier. Teixeira will have a tough job to do against Cannonier, as he’ll have to win decisively to show that he can justify a big name fight in the future.
Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has been among the top competitors in the middleweight division for years now, and he’ll have to keep up his tendency to succeed in huge fights when he fights Tim Boetsch at UFC 208. Boetsch will hope that his takedown defense can keep the fight standing, as Jacare has perhaps the best jiu-jitsu in the sport.
Veteran fighters Travis Browne and Jim Miller will take on Derrick Lewis and Dustin Poirier, respectively. Meanwhile, Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall will take on Neil Seery as part of a top-notch preliminary card that also includes Nik Lentz and Wilson Reis.
Don’t be left out as the UFC awards its newest championship on February 11. Purchase your tickets now so you can be in attendance at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for UFC 208: Holm vs. de Randamie.
