Some rivalries are meant for more than one matchup, and the one between light heavyweights Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson is one of them. Be there live to see the two fight for the second time by getting tickets now for UFC 210: Cormier vs. Johnson 2.
The two faced off at UFC 187, with Cormier making no bones of the fact that he was extremely wary of Johnson’s prodigious punching power before the fight. However, when the fight began, Cormier was largely able to stay out of trouble, despite a few very tense moments when Johnson appeared to be on the verge of putting Cormier in serious danger.
Cormier was able to show the heart of a champion and persevere en route to a third round rear naked choke victory, claiming the belt that had been stripped from former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. He has held it since, shrugging aside a title challenge from the tough Alexander Gustafsson and besting middleweight legend Anderson Silva at UFC 200.
Johnson, meanwhile, has been a man on a mission since his defeat in May of 2015. Since then, he has knocked out Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader, and Glover Teixeira, with only Manuwa able to make it out of the first round. He did so while telling anyone who would listen that he was ready and wiling to face Cormier once again.
On April 8, he will get his wish.
Other great bouts are also scheduled for the night. Former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman will face multi-organizational champion Gegard Mousasi in a fantastic bout at 185 pounds. Also, two longtime UFC fan favorites will tackle one another in the cage as Thiago Alves and Patrick Cote do battle.
If you don’t want to miss out on one of the most important events of the year, make sure to get your tickets today for UFC 210: Cormier vs. Johnson 2. The fight will take place live at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center in New York on April 8, 2017.
