Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen will settle their feud on January 21 as they face off at Bellator 170: Sonnen vs. Ortiz. The fight will be held at The Forum in Inglewood, California, so get your tickets now while you can.
Sonnen will make his Bellator debut in the fight with Ortiz, which will also be his first fight in over three years. Tito, meanwhile, has fought three times in Bellator, posting a 2-1 record with victories over Alexander Shlemenko and Stephan Bonnar.
Tito is one of the most heralded champions in light heavyweight division history, ruling the UFC’s division from April 2000 to Sept. 2003, when he dropped his belt to Randy Couture after six straight wins in title matches. His career includes victories over Ken Shamrock, Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort, Forrest Griffin and Ryan Bader.
Sonnen is best known for his legendary feud with former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva. Sonnen’s career has included wins over current UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Brian Stann, and Nate Marquardt. He was the final WEC Middleweight Champion.
Also fighting at Bellator 170 will be Paul Daley, who is not only one of the hardest hitters in the welterweight division, but one of the most controversial athletes, as well. Daley had a five-fight winning streak snapped when he dropped a decision to Douglas Lima, and he’ll want to get back in the win column against the dynamic Brennan Ward, who has won five fights out of his last six attempts.
Daley will definitely be looking to take Ward’s head off, as he always does. However, Ward has nine career KOs and is a tough fighter, himself. Who will get knocked out and who will have his hand raised?
By getting tickets to see Bellator 170: Sonnen vs. Ortiz live on February 18, you’ll also get to watch the undefeated Ralek Gracie make his American debut against Hisaki Kato. Can Ralek build upon his family’s legacy with a victory? We’ll find out when Bellator 170 happens at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
