Middleweight sensation Yoshihiro Akiyama is looking to impress when he fights Alan Belcher at UFC 100 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Akiyama wants to show the world that Asian fighters can succeed in the UFC.
“The Asian fighters aren’t doing too well in the UFC, so as someone that represents the Asian fighters, I want to do my best,” Akiyama said to 5thRound.com.
“To me, the transition from the ring to the cage isn’t too big, but I try not to think of it as much as possible, because that will get to my head.”
Akiyama holds an impressive 12-1 record and his favorite to win his fight against Belcher on Saturday.
