Anderson Silva not scared by Nate’s victory

By on September 6, 2009

Brazilian middleweight champion Anderson Silva insists he was not scared by Nate Marquardt’s impressive win over Demian Maia at UFC 102.

Marquardt managed to beat Maia in only 21 seconds and is closing in on a middleweight title-fight against Anderson Silva.

Anderson Silva insists he is prepared for either Henderson or Marquardt.

“I wasn’t scared by Nate’s fast victory over Maia. The Brazilian made a basic mistake, he kicked without taking Marquardt’s attention and got a punch landed on his face. That’s normal, nothing unusual,” said the Spider.

“Nate played well, waited until the right time and Demian made a basic error. But it’s not Maia’s fault as he isn’t a specialist of kicking. He did what he trained for. Well, I was rooting for him but unfortunately he didn’t win the fight.

“Whether Marquardt or Henderson comes out I will be prepared to any one of them.”
