Anderson Silva’s manager has confirmed that the middleweight champion’s next opponent will be Vitor Belfort.
But the Silva-Belfort fight will not be taking place at UFC 109 in February, according to MMA Junkie.
“It’s a tough fight, Vitor is a dangerous guy, but Anderson is a tough guy, (Vitor) is gonna fight the best pound for pound fighter in the world”, Jorge Guimaraes said to Tatame today.
Anderson Silva is currently waiting for his elbow to heal, following a recent surgery, but it could keep him out until February.
Guimaraes also confirmed that Lyoto Machida’s rematch with Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua will take place on May 1st.
