Bellator Fighting Championship has confirmed the signing of former Olympian and up-and-coming lightweight Ferrid Kheder.
Kheder finished seventh in the judo competition at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
Kheder will take part in the Bellator Fighting Championship’s 12-week tournament, which is set to start on April 8th.
“I’m a judo guy through and through, but I’ve adapted my skills to MMA,” Kheder stated in a release. “I’ve worked hard on my ground game and my striking, and I believe I’m ready to take it to the next level.
“Bellator is a great promotion. … They respect their athletes and put on some great shows. I’m very excited for the opportunity.”
