British MMA star Michael Bisping has admitted he is still keen on a rematch with Wanderlei Silva in the near future.
Bisping his set to fight with Dan Miller at the upcoming UFC 114 event.
“I am not looking past my opponent,” Bisping told Fighters Only Magazine. “I am not sure who my next opponent is going to be. Personally if I win this fight – when I win, I should say – and if Wanderlei wins his next match I wouldn’t mind a rematch.
“I know he has been talking about a rematch and I will quite happily fight him again. I only have three losses in my career and that is to three former champions, I would like to avenge them. The only reason I am bringing up a rematch with Wanderlei is because he has been bringing it up in interviews. And if he thinks in his heart of hearts he won the fight, why on earth does he want a rematch? I think deep down he knows – and I respect him for that – I won the fight and so he wants a rematch.
“That’s fine, I will happily oblige but obviously I have to win and he has to win [his next fight] otherwise it doesn’t make sense. I would like to move on with my career and get a title shot or whatever, but if he wants to do it I will happily do it. He is the one saying he wants a rematch and I am the one saying ‘I will happily fight you again, I would love to fight you again.’”
