Bisping to fight Henderson at UFC 100

UFC President Dana White has confirmed Michael Bisping will fight Dan Henderson at the main event of the UFC 100.

The event will take place on the weekend of July 11 and if Bisping manages to get a victory he will be guaranteed a fight against Anderson Silva for the middleweight title, if the Brazilian overcomes Thales Leites at UFC 97.

White told Setanta Sports News: “This is going to be the fight that is going to answer all the questions about Michael Bisping.

"Is he going to take that next step and break into the top five fighters in that division?

“If he beats Dan Henderson not only will he break into that top five his next fight will be a title shot against Anderson Silva, which would hopefully be here in the UK.”

White also confirmed that there will be three major fights that weekend. Reports have suggested that the UFC could put every title on line that weekend.

He added: "I’ve been putting it off for so long, we’ve been doing so many fights that I couldn’t focus on UFC 100.

"So after the BJ Penn and Georges St Pierre fight was over, we sat down and put together a great card and I don’t think the fans are going to be disappointed.

"There won’t be five title belts on the line but there will be three major fights on that card – three MAJOR fights."
