Brian Bowles impressed and caused one of the biggest MMA upsets so far this year when he defeated Miguel Torres at WEC 42.
Bowles won the bantamweight title following a shocking first-round knockout of Torres on Sunday night in Las Vegas.
“I was just confident that I could win,” Bowles said after the fight. “I convinced myself that I could beat him.”
Torres was knocked unconscious on the canvas following several punches to his face from Bowles and his record went from 37-1 to 37-2.
Bowles currently holds an 8-0 record and the bantamweight champion of the world plans to keep hold of his title for the long run.
“I won this belt,” Bowles said. “I earned it, and I want to keep on defending it.”
