Carwin could fight Mir at UFC 111

Shane Carwin could be set for an interim UFC heavyweight title decider against Frank Mir at UFC 111, according to MMAjunkie.com.

Both fighters have agreed to the encounter that is expected to be on the UFC 111 fight card.

UFC heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar was set to fight Carwin last month, but is still out of action as he continues his rehabilitation.

Carwin has admitted on his official website that he would be keen on a fight with Mir.

“Mir is a multiple-time champion who has been counted out more [than] Mike Tyson to only find himself right back at the top,” said Carwin. “He is a legend of the sport, and I would be honoured to fight him.”
