CroCop signs three-fight deal with the UFC

By on July 14, 2009

The Ultimate Fighting Championship have confirmed that Mirko ‘CroCop’ Filipovic has signed a three-fight deal with the organization.

UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta hinted on Saturday that they had reached a deal with CroCop and UFC president Dana White confirmed to Yahoo! Sports on Monday that a deal had been reached.

Fertitta held talks with the Croatian heavyweight in Croatia just over a week ago.

CroCop made a return to the UFC when he won a fight against Mostapha Al-Turk in Cologne, Germany last month, but told White that he was leaving for DREAM just hours after the event.

“I never had a problem with Mirko himself and I’m looking forward to having him fight for us again,” White told Yahoo! Sports.

“He’s said (his previous stint in) the UFC is the black mark on his career and he wants to do something about that.”
