Strikeforce women’s lightweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos looks set for a fight against Erin Toughill next.
Santos managed to defend her title against Marloes Coenen at Strikeforce Miami on Saturday.
“I’m very happy to win this fight,” said Cyborg after her third-round TKO over Coenen. “It was a good fight. I think I could have done more but she was the toughest fighter I’ve faced and has a great heart. I admire her a lot.”
Strikeforce boss Scott Coker says Erin Toughill is probably the next opponent for Santos.
“We’re going to offer the fight to Gilbert Melendez, maybe Josh Thomson,” Coker joked while talking to MMAjunkie.com. “And then we’ll take it from there.
“Seriously, though, I think the next opponent is Erin Toughill.”
