Davis laughs off Hardy's boxing skills

Marcus Davis insists has laughed of Dan Hardy’s boxing skills, ahead of their fight at UFC 99.

Hardy has been training with boxing coach Freddie Roach ahead of the fight in Cologne, but Davis is confident he can ‘outpunch’ the 26-year-old.

Speaking to Setanta Sports News, he said: “Why would his boxing worry me? Is he gonna make up my 21 years of amateur boxing in the next couple of months?

“I’ll outpunch him, outwrestle him, I’ll take it to him and finish him.

“His strengths are Muay Thai. My Muay Thai and my skills are better than his. He keeps talking about how he has more tools than me…no way. I’m a better wrestler than he is, I have many more submissions that he does, I’m definitely the better puncher.

“I’ll give him that he is technically a better kicker, but people who have got kick-happy with me – guys like Jess Liaudin and Jason Tan – have ended up getting punished.”
