Egan ready to fight Wallhead

Irish welterweight Tom Egan admits he is ready to fight Jimmy Wallhead.

Wallhead is a team-mate of Dan Hardy and is eager to fight Egan on May 2 in England.

Egan wrote in his blog at Setanta.com: “I hear John Blockhead…or Jimmy Wallhead or whatever his name is wants to fight me on May 2 because of what I said about wanting to fight Dan Hardy. He wants to fight me in a superfight in England May 2 but I’m gonna still be in Vegas. It won’t happen in May, but I’ve definitely got no problems taking him on when I’m back.”

“I want to clear something up regarding what I said about wanting to fight Dan Hardy. I’m a big fan of his…when I say I want to fight him – that’s a sign of respect. What young fighter would not want to fight the best welterweight in Europe? I don’t understand why people have taken my comment so badly. When I say I want to fight somebody, it’s because I think they’re a great fighter and I want to fight the best.”
