Fitch out for six months

UFC welterweight star Jon Fitch is expected to be out for up to six month with a shoulder injury.

Fitch is likely to require surgery on his shoulder and will miss a planned rematch with BJ Penn at UFC 132.

It is expected that UFC will move the fight to a later date as Penn also recently sustained an injury of his own.

“Looks like I will be getting shoulder surgery next week. Not the news I was looking for,” Fitch wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Fitch replied, when asked how long he expects to be out of action: “Four to six months”.
