Rich Franklin’s manager has admitted that the former middleweight champion could return in December or January.
It was feared that Franklin had broken his arm in his win over Chuck Liddell at UFC 115.
“He needed to make sure it healed correctly. He was feeling good. A few days before (the doctor’s appointment), he was telling some people, ‘I don’t think I’m going to need surgery. It’s feeling pretty good,” Franklin’s business manager, J.T. Stewart told MMA Junkie today.
“If it hadn’t healed correctly, they would have had to probably re-break or reset it and put it back in a big cast. It would have been a setback. He’s not real happy about that. But it could have been worse.”
