Griffin wants Sanchez fight

Tyson Griffin has admitted he is ready to fight former welterweight Diego Sanchez, assuming that he beats Clay Guida at the TUF 9 finale.

“I would like to fight Diego Sanchez assuming that he beats Clay Guida. Diego is the only guy on my radar that I would like to fight,” he told FightHype.

“I think it would be a tough fight and he’s trying to come down a division and go to the top so I think that would be a good fight.”

Griffin managed to beat Dos Anjos on unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 18 earlier this month.

But Griffin was almost forced to tap out during the fight after being caught in a leglock.

“Tapping never crossed my mind. It was definitely painful, but it’s not like an armbar where it’s going to pop your joint out if you don’t tap. I felt a little pain, but it was just like pressure on my cap and once you tough it out, it can’t get any worse,” he recalled.
