Henderson set for February title fight

WEC interim champion Ben Henderson and lightweight champion Jamie Varner is set for a title fight in early 2010.

The WEC had hoped to stage the fight in December, but Henderson is unable to make the fight, due to his five-round thriller this weekend.

Henderson will need some time off, following his 25-minute struggle at the weekend.

“Ben won’t be ready for a December fight, and we are hoping for January or February,” Henderson’s manager Jason Genet told FanHouse.

WEC general manager Reed Harris told Henderson to call out Varner after his title belt win at the weekend.
