Henderson too good for Bisping

Californian lightweight Joe Stevenson believes Dan Henderson is simply too good for Michael Bisping.

Bisping will fight Henderson at The Ultimate Fighter 9 finale on July 11 in Las Vegas.

The winner of the fight is expected to get a shot at the middleweight title and Stevenson has no doubts that veteran Hendo will win it.

He told The Sun: “Dan Henderson is from my hometown, Victorville, and he’s the reason I started fighting so I’m definitely rooting for him because he’s my hero.

“Michael’s tough, he’s got a great work ethic and the ability to push the other person but this will be the toughest fight of his life.

“When Mike fought Matt Hamill the decision could have gone either way but his ability to be able to take on such a good wrestler in that fight was awesome.

“But his fight with Dan will be interesting. I can’t lean one way or the other but once again, Dan’s my hero so I’m going to say he will emerge victorious.

“I’ve trained with him and know he’s been coached by some of the best people in the world.

“He’s a great coach but his ability as a fighter is phenomenal. On the show you’ll probably see that he trains real loose.

“Dan’s got a lot of experience and he knows how hard he can push his body now at his age – so he practices nice and calm.

"But when he turns it on, you don’t want to be in the way!”
