Matt Hughes insists he still sees himself as a contender for the welterweight title, following his decision win over Matt Serra at UFC 98.
The fight between Hughes and Serra was named Fight of the Night and the pair were handed $60,000.
Hughes told Fighters Only Magazine: “I don’t know what I am going to do. DW [Dana White] and I are going to get in a room and talk about it and figure it out , so… I definitely till want to compete.
“I still think I am competitive in the weight division, so we’ll keep going. It will be interesting to watch Thiago [Alves] and GSP go at it. It will be an interesting fight for me to watch and we’ll figure out. Like I’ve always said before, I am not going anywhere.”
Serra has disagreed with the judges’ decision to award Hughes the win.
“I thought I lost the first round and won the second two. The second round was definitely on my side, I thought the third round was maybe a little closer but I thought it was still mine. It went kind of like I thought it would,” Hughes added.
