Jackson faces a ‘swimming pool of sharks’

By Hakon on February 28, 2009

Quinton Jackson faces a pool full of sharks if he managed to reclaim his light heavyweight title, according to UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Jackson will fight Keith Jardine in the main event at UFC 96 on March 7. It is believed a victory will give him a fight against champion Rashad Evans.

Rogan told The Sun:”The 205lbs division is stacked – it is a swimming pool of sharks.

“But Quinton’s coming off a devastating victory over Wanderlei Silva – and he’s shown that vicious knockout power he carries in both of his hands.

“He knocked out Chuck Liddell with a right hand and Wanderlei with a left hook.

“Rampage is a very, very dangerous fight for anybody in the division.”

Rampage lost his title to Forrest Griffin in July but is confident he will get a shot to win his title back if he beats Jardine.

Jackson said: “Somebody’s gotta pay for me being back in this cold weather!

“It makes me very angry when I think ‘damn, I’m back in this cold country training again – but it makes a man out of you.

“Jardine doesn’t know what’s in store for him. I wouldn’t want to be Keith right now – he’s going to need all the help he can get.

“I want to see him get knocked the hell out!”
