Junior dos Santos closing in on title shot

UFC president Dana White has revealed that Junior dos Santos could be handed a title shot if he manages to beat Gilbert Yvel at UFC 108.

White made the comment about Junior dos Santos’ future at the end of the UFC 108 Countdown shot that aired on Tuesday night.

“If Junior dos Santos goes in there and knocks this guy out, he’s there,” White said. “He’s ready for that title shot.”

Junior dos Santos is usually rated behind fighters such as Brock Lesnar, Frank Mir, Shane Carwin, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez in the UFC heavyweight division.
