M-1 Global vice president Jerry Millen is confident that there is room for more than ‘one big MMA company’.
Strikeforce entered a partnership with M-1 Global earlier this week, following their signing of Russian MMA star Fedor Emelianenko.
“The thing is, there’s room in the world for more than one big MMA company,” Millen told MMAjunkie.com.
“There’s a lot of rabid UFC fans out there, but people have got to remember, the UFC is not MMA. It’s a brand of MMA, and they are not alone in the world.
“[The UFC] didn’t invent the sport. Sure, they helped grow it. They’ve got great fighters. They’ve done a lot to expand the sport, which I think is great. But they didn’t invent MMA.”
