Nogueira believes Dos Santos could be the next UFC champion

Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira believes his training partner Junior Dos Santos could become the next Brazilian champion in the UFC.

Dos Santos is unbeaten in five UFC fights and is set to fight TUF 10 winner Roy Nelson in his next fight.

“He’s going through a very good time in his career, a very good phase, just as I had those moments to become a champion and others I didn’t. I’m happy for his good fortune… He smells the belt, so we’re training him to get there,” Nogueira told MMA magazine Tatame.

“His moment is now, everything is going just fine so he can fight for the belt… He was trained to become the champion of the world and his time will come. If it’s now, we’ll be glad to be a part of it.”
