Sanchez confirms return to welterweight

Diego Sanchez has confirmed that he will return to the welterweight division.

Sanchez failed to beat BJ Penn and get his UFC lightweight title at the end of 2009 and is not looking for a rematch.

Sanchez posted on his Twitter account: “Yes I’m going back to welterweight, I’m loving my new diet. I want Kos or Fitch but any top guy will do. Just want to give you fans the best fight.”

Sanchez would prefer fighting Koscheck and Fitch again, but could also face rising stars like Anthony Johnson and Paul ‘Semtes’ Daley in the near future.

Sanchez suffered losses to Koscheck and Fitch in 2008 and will be desperate to get back.
