Silva promising a bloody fight

Brazilian Muay Thai master Wanderlei Silva has promised fans a bloody and brutal fight against Rich Franklin at UFC 99.

The two will collide at the UFC 99 event that will be held in Germany on June 13.

Silva told The Sun: “I’m putting in a lot of effort for this fight. People see me giving interviews with black eyes and a bruised face – that is because I am really brawling. I am giving my best in training.

“In the sparring sessions, many times I am the smallest of the training partners. Everybody else weighs 230 or 240lbs.

“Heath Herring, Gilbert Yvel, Mike Whitehead, Forrest Griffin, Vitor Vianna – all top guys – and thank God I am brawling a lot.

“Whoever comes to train with me will get good at fighting after brawling with me! I am giving my maximum because I know the importance of this fight. This is a very important fight for me.

“I know about the responsibility – I am carrying a big weight on my back. I know I have to win.

“But there are only two possibilities in this fight – either I KO him or he KOs me.

“This is going to be a bloody fight, that’s all that can happen in this fight.

“This is not going to be a moderate fight because I am not a moderate fighter, with me there is no such thing.

“I go in hoping he hits me, because the second he hits me, I will crush him.

“I respect the guy and all, but not now, now he is my opponent and I have to destroy him because this is very important for my career and that is what I am going to do.”
