St Pierre named Fighter of the Year

Georges St Pierre was named Fighter of the Year at the World MMA Awards at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada last night.

St Pierre managed two great performances in 2009 with wins over BJ Penn and Thiago Alves.

Gegard Mousasi was named European Fighter of the Year after proving he is among the best fighters there is within MMA.

Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Santos, who managed a string of high profile victories in 2009, was named Female Fighter of the Year.

Brock Lesnar was named Breakthrough Fighter, following his wins over Randy Couture and Frank Mir.
