Georges St. Pierre’s manager, Shari Spencer, has confirmed that the UFC welterweight champion will not require surgery on his groin injury.
St. Pierre believed he had torn a muscle in his groin during his recent fight against Thiago Alves at UFC 100.
“Evaluation of the results of an MRI indicate that no surgery will be required, and Georges should be back in the gym training within a few weeks after a brief rehabilitation,” Spencer stated in a statement.
Reports says St. Pierre informed his cornerman, Greg Jackson, that he had torn his groin during the fight, and only got this response from Jackson: “I don’t care.Hit him with it.”
