Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker insists he is in no rush to sign Kimbo Slice.
UFC president Dana White decided to cut Slice and Paul Daley following their fights on Saturday.
“The thing is with Kimbo is he was successful with the ratings, but when we purchased (the contracts) from ProElite [after EliteXC went under], the deal at that time we felt was too rich for long-term viability,” Coker told Sherdog Radio.
“We haven’t revisited it internally yet, so as of right now I think we’re going to stick with our course, which is putting on the best fighters in the world in the best match-ups.”
Coker did not state that he was not interested in signing Slice. The Strikeforce boss has also played down talk of signing Daley, as he expects the British MMA star to be hit with a lengthy ban following an incident at the end of his UFC 113 bout with Josh Koscheck on Saturday.
