Tim Sylvia’s long-time manager Monte Cox insists the former UFC heavyweight champion will no be retiring.
Sylvia has lost his last two fights by stoppage and reports has claimed he could be set to retire.
Sylvia suffered a submission loss to MMA star Fedor Emelianenko and a nine-second KO loss to Ray Mercer in his last two fights.
“He’s an MMA fighter, that’s what he does for a living,” Cox told MMA Weekly. “He’s got to keep fighting – he’s too young to quit.”
Sylvia has previously hinted that he could make a move into professional boxing.
He explained to Fighters Only Magazine: “I don’t want to be done with MMA but the money is a lot better in boxing, its a lot easier on your body and its a lot easier to train for a boxing match than it is an MMA match… I would love to fight some of the heavyweight champs you know? I mean the paydays are ridiculous! I mean $10 million paydays, that is just stupid money.”
