UFC 109 Fight bonuses

Chael Sonnen, Nate Marquardt, Matt Serra and Paulo Thiago were each awarded $60,000 bonuses, following their performances at UFC 109 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Sonnen’s victory over Marquardt, that saw him clinch a middleweight title shot, was declared the Fight of the Ngith.

Paulo Thiago’s D’arce choke on Mike Swick was named Submission of the Night.

Serra dropped Frank Trigg with an overhand right and blasted him with several more rights to earn the Knockout of the Night .

“I worked a lot with the big guy, Ray Longo,” Serra said after the fight. “We worked a lot on combinations and standing up looking for holes [in Trigg's standup game]. We worked a lot on body and getting up to the head.”
