Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White confirmed on Thursday that France will soon host one of their events.
An official ban on MMA was lifted in France in 2008 and the country is the home of fighters such as Cheick Kongo and Xavier Foupa-Pokam.
“We’re coming to France,” White said at Thursday’s UFC 97 pre-event press conference when questioned by a French reporter. “There’s no doubt about it.”
The UFC recently signed a deal with the French TV station RTL9, that will bring UFC-related programming to the French audience.
“It’s doing very, very well on TV,” White said.
