The Ultimate Fighting Championship was handed a boost with the news of their strong viewing figures in the Mexican market.
UFC 100 was aired on Channel 9 in Mexico last week, the debut for the MMA organization.
“We definitely knew that the Mexican people were hungry for the UFC,” said Lorenzo Fertitta, Chairman and CEO of the UFC. “We paved the way with the WEC, which was getting a great response in Mexico, and we knew that once you put this program on free TV, it would work.”
The UFC are attempting to get into the Mexican market and managed to beat both boxing and soccer programming that was airing in the same timeslot.
