MMA veteran fighter Chuck Liddell insists he wants to retire from the sport on his own terms and not being told by someone else.
Liddell was told by UFC president Dana White last April that he should retire, following knockout losses to Rashad Evans and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
“I have to go out on my own, the way I want to go out. It has to be my decision,” Liddell said in an interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal.
“I’m not going to let fans or people that aren’t that close to me and don’t watch me train, don’t see what I can still do, make that decision for me.”
