The parent company of the WEC and the UFC, Zuffa, have decided to release Jamie Varner from his contract.
Varner has 0-3-1 from his last four fights and will not be making the move from the WEC to the UFC.
“I am ready for 2011, there will be some changes in my game. It has been a nice ride with the WEC but its time for a change. Perhaps UFC will be in my future down the road… We shall see!” Varner told PunchDrunkGamer.
Varner has revealed that he plans to take “a little time off and then look at new fighting opportunities in the MMA world” and also plans to finish his college degree.
