Vazquez confident he will beat Pulver at WEC 47

Javier Vazquez is confident that he will manage to beat Jens Pulver when the two meet at Saturday’s WEC 47 event.

Vazquez have a disappointing 0-2 start in the WEC and is desperate for a win against Pulver.

“Every fight is a must-win, but yeah definitely this one (is) just because of the circumstances,” Vazquez told MMAjunkie.com.

“But I’m not pressuring myself. I’m just going out there and doing my thing. If I fight up to my ability, I win.”

Vazquez have previously been reported as saying he planned ’to retire Pulver’.

“Some of my stuff has been taken out of context,” Vazquez said. “I’ve said in several interviews that I hope he doesn’t (retire). I hope I’m not the one (who retires him). … I want to see him fight. I’m a big fan of his. I’ve been following his career for 10 years. … But I also want to win.

“Like I said, some of the things I said were taken out of context. They’ll take the middle of my sentence and post that, but they won’t use the whole sentence.”
