Villefort targets UFC return

Danillo ‘Indio’ Villefort is keen on a quick return to the UFC after being dismissed by the promotion after his debut against Jesse Lenox at UFC 101 last month.

Villefort claims an eye damaged and several basic mistakes ruined that fight for him.

“I fought well but made some basic mistakes I shouldn’t have given to myself the right to make. It’s over! It has already gone and I’m expecting the next combat,” he said to Brasil Combate this week.
 
“I wasn’t seeing nothing with my left eye, there was too much blood on it. It’s not possible to see it on the tape but before getting up I asked the referee to clean my eye. Actually I think he was nervous because that was his first time at UFC. Maybe that was the reason he jumped into conclusions.”

He added: “Everybody has been saying I was cut from the UFC for that fight but it wasn’t the cause. The thing is they (UFC) hired many fighters from Affliction at once and couldn’t maintain all of them. Then the guys who fought on the undercard and were defeated were fired. I hope to be back in a near future to put on good shows.”
