UFC president Dana White has revealed that he could decide to bring back Pride Fighting Championship in the future.
The UFC have had a good response to their airing of historic Pride fights on SPIKE-TV on Friday nights.
“You never know, anything is possible,” said White to Sun Media’s Scrapyard, when he was asked if they could host an event under the Pride brand in the future.
“For its time slot on Friday night, the first episode pulled a good rating so we’re excited about that. We’re hoping that series will continue to do well.”
The UFC took over Pride in 2007 but failed to run the promotion in Japan and closed it down in late 2007.
White added: “I don’t want to say the Pride name is dead. It’s still a strong powerful brand. But the reality is that us running Pride in Japan, that completely fell apart.”
