White expects MMA to become an Olympic sport

UFC President Dana White believes mixed martial arts will someday become and Olympic and NCAA sport.

White made the comments while on Dan Partick’s radio show, when asked if MMA could be a collegiate sport.

“I do, actually,” White said. “And an Olympic sport. It will be an Olympic sport. I don’t know if it’ll happen while I’m alive, but I guarantee it’s definitely going to be an Olympic sport.”

But White admits MMA in college would probably arrive before we see MMA in the Olympics.

White said: “Probably college. I know that there are some schools out there right now — not only colleges but high schools — that actually have MMA classes.”
