White tells Diaz ‘to play the game’

UFC president Dana White admits Nick Diaz ‘probably should be in the UFC’, but insists the welterweight refuses ‘to play the game’.

White commented on the infamous incident where Diaz and Joe Riggs got into a fight at a hospital after meeting each other earlier the same night.

“I like Nick Diaz very much and I have said this many times. If Nick Diaz played the game even this much (a little), but Nick Diaz refuses to play the game. He is anti-‘the game’… its hard, you know?” White was quoted as saying by Fighters Only Magazine.

“You have to certain rules and guidelines and the last time Nick Diaz was in the UFC he got into a fistfight in the hospital with the kid that he fought here [in the UFC]. You can’t do that kind of stuff. The kid is very talented and he probably should be in the UFC, but that kind of stuff has to stop.”
