White warns St Pierre over Alves threat

UFC president Dana White believes Georges St Pierre faces a massive test with his fight against Brazilian star Alves.

The two will meet at the UFC 100 event in Las Vegas on Saturday Night.

White told MMA Connected: “People don’t realise what a big fight this is for Georges.

“I feel his fight has been overshadowed by the one between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir.

“I’m not taking anything away from Georges but the last two guys he beat weighed 155lbs and Thiago cuts down from 200lbs — this kid is huge!

“He’s very well-rounded and has great takedown defence and this will be a MASSIVE test for Georges St Pierre.”
