Customer Reviews
Concurrence from outside the dojo
It's been 15 years since I was in a dojo - I bought these tabi for wearing around the home. They've worked well so far. I would generally echo recommendations from earlier reviewers, but definitely round up your half size and even go one Japanese size higher if you're wearing tabi socks. If you're looking to keep feet warm, you'll definitely need fitted tabi socks. Finally, you should should keep in mind this particular type has a cloth sole - go for a different item if you need skid proofing.

Good quality, good price
I bought these tabi as a replacement for a pair that I've had for a year (same manufacturer). They're very durable and have endured many training sessions; I highly recommend them for all martial arts practitioners. They're comfortable, they provide better traction than socks (not to mention they look cooler :), and they make for a more sanitary dojo. One thing to note though, they do shrink very easily, especially if you use a dryer to dry them, so I would recommend buying a half-size to a size larger than normal, and purchasing tabi socks along with them to help fit them better if necessary (plus tabi socks will help reduce the wear on the tabi, so you can keep them longer). Also, to keep them from wearing out too quickly, I also suggest only washing them after 2 or 3 training sessions; if you wash them every time, they WILL fall apart faster.

Authentic Japanese indoor tabi
These indoor tabi are excellent for budo taijutsu and ninjutsu practioners. They have cotton soles, and metal closures which is obviously the correct style. They last at least a year depending on the level of practice and are a comfortable fit. I issue these to all new students and have had good feedback from the majority of them when using them.
